After pregnancy, many women complain of sagging breasts. With successive pregnancies, breast displacement becomes more noticeable. The firmness and exact positioning of youth may be lost. The mastopexy is a procedure designed to correct the deformity. During the procedure, the breast tissue is elevated, the nipple is repositioned and the skin is tightened, increasing the firmness of the breast. If breast volume has also been lost, implants are placed. Postoperative scars do result as in a breast reduction, but are generally more limited in extent.
